Singing Thru The Psalms is a journey through all 150 Psalms—one chapter, one song at a time.

What began as a simple idea on a rainy afternoon eventually became a much larger challenge: creating an original song inspired by every Psalm in Scripture—from Psalm 1 all the way to Psalm 150.

Every song featured on this site is an original composition inspired by Scripture and created specifically for this journey through the Psalms.

What I have learned as I’ve gone through this is that the Psalms contain every human emotion. They celebrate joy, wrestle with doubt, cry out in sorrow, proclaim God’s faithfulness while sometimes wondering what He is doing, all while understanding that His people are called to worship and trust Him in everything.

No two Psalms are exactly alike, and neither are the songs in this project.

Some are quiet and reflective. Others are energetic and joyful. Along the way you’ll hear influences from worship, folk, soul, R&B, jazz, country, southern rock, and even the occasional hip hop groove. The goal has never been to fit every Psalm into the same musical style, but to let each chapter find its own voice.

Every song begins with Scripture. While creative interpretation is part of the process, the heart of each piece remains rooted in the message of the Psalm itself. Some Psalms have been joyful celebrations. Others have been difficult companions for a season. A few have tested my creativity more than I expected.

It turns out that “everything is in ruins, life is terrible, and I have questions” is not always the easiest starting point for a song. Yet those chapters matter too, because somebody somewhere needs to hear that message.

Behind Singing Thru The Psalms is one songwriter with a love for God’s Word and a desire for people to know the God who created them, a passion for music, and a determination to see the journey through to the very end.

My hope is that these songs help listeners experience the Psalms in a fresh way, discover familiar passages from a new perspective, and carry God’s Word with them throughout the week.

What’s next? For now, the focus remains on completing all 150 Psalms. Beyond that, there are a number of ideas waiting on the drawing board—new creative projects, new musical adventures, and perhaps a few surprises that may or may not involve banjos, jaw harps, and an entirely unreasonable amount of cowbell. 😊

Thank you for being part of the journey! There’s plenty more Psalms to sing!
