15 Favorite Songs From The Journey
After writing and producing so many Psalm songs, I finally decided to put together a “Best Of” collection from the songs that have been created so far… and honestly, choosing which songs to include was harder than I expected because so many of them have meant something personal to me along the way.
I chose to open the video with Psalm 46 (“We Will Not Be Shaken”) because it was the Psalm speaking to me most directly during the time I was building this compilation. Besides just being a great song, it felt like the right place to begin.
This collection moves through a lot of different styles and emotions — praise and worship, groove-driven songs, southern rock, folk-soul, jazz influences, even a little hip hop energy — but every song is rooted in the words of the Psalms. Ancient words with a fresh sound.
Psalm 46
Some mornings feel steady. Others feel like everything is shifting under your feet.
Psalm 46 reminds us that even when the ground shakes… we don’t have to. God is our refuge and strength—right here, right now. Not distant. Not delayed. Present.
Psalm 87
Psalm 87 is such a unique chapter because it’s not just about the city of God… it’s about WHO gets welcomed into it.
“City of Zion” was a fun one to create — bright energy, big choir moments, and a reminder that the family of God is bigger than we sometimes imagine.
Psalm 70
There are moments where faith doesn’t look like calm confidence. It looks like urgency. It looks like calling out again and again: “Hurry, Lord… I need You now.”
Psalm 70 reminds us that God isn’t distant from those prayers.
Psalm 78
Psalm 78 felt like a story passed from generation to generation. “Tell it to the sons. Tell it to the daughters and the young ones after…”
This song is about remembering what God has done — and making sure the next generation hears about it too.
Psalm 63
This Psalm 63 song is about that deep, honest longing—and the peace that comes when we remember His love is better than anything we’ve known.
In the quiet… in the dry places… that’s often where we realize what we’re really reaching for.
Psalm 61
When your heart feels overwhelmed and when the noise won’t stay quiet, when you’ve reached the edge of what you can carry…
There’s still a place to go. “From the end of the earth I will cry to You… Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.” (Psalm 61:2)
There are moments when life just doesn’t seem fair. You try to do the right thing. You stay steady. You keep your heart in the right place… And then you look around and see others thriving without the same struggle.
Psalm 73 doesn’t ignore that feeling—it walks straight into it.
Psalm 38
We’ve all had moments when our hearts feel heavy and our prayers come out broken. Psalm 38 speaks to that place—the place where we feel the weight of our mistakes… yet still choose to walk toward God.
Because hope isn’t found in having perfect words. It’s found in knowing the Lord hears us.
Psalm 51
I think Psalm 51 might be the most human chapter in the entire Bible. You don’t have an excuse. You don’t have a defense. You don’t even have the right words.
Just:
“I’ve got nothing left… God, I need You.”
Some nights feel long. Questions linger. Prayers feel quiet. Hope feels far away. But Psalm 30 reminds us of something powerful:“Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.”
God never wastes the night seasons of our lives. Even when we can’t see it yet, morning is on the way.
Psalm 80
Sometimes faith sounds less like celebration and more like asking God to breathe life back into tired places.
This worship song was built around one simple prayer: “Restore us again.” Not polished. Not perfect. Just honest.
Psalm 54
When I had nothing left…I found out I wasn’t alone. “Help me, O God” wasn’t a whisper— it was a declaration.
And He answered. I didn’t fight back.
I stood still. Because God was already fighting for me.
Psalm 57
This Psalm reminds us that even in the middle of fear, God is still our refuge.
No matter what we face, He is still above it all. “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let Your glory be above all the earth.”
Psalm 83
Psalm 83 turned into a dark southern-rock prayer for anyone feeling surrounded, pressured, or overwhelmed.
But underneath all the tension is one truth that kept rising to the surface: “We are surrounded, but we are not abandoned.”
Psalm 84
“Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere.”
Psalm 84 is the sound of a soul finally finding home.
This is a song about longing. About wanting to be near God more than anywhere else.
